Brass Animal Keychains

I think I'd like to keep a baby lion or piglet in my purse. Between this and them, my keys will always be on the ready versus floating around where I can never find them.

p.s. I was born the year of the pig in the Chinese Zodiac and my dad calls me baby tiger hence my brass baby pics! Which brass keychain are you? I'd love to know why!

Mrs.Lilien and Society Social Collab Reveal

In the early stages of brainstorming what I wanted my business Society Social to represent, I kept coming back to a favorite mantra, "It's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." In this video, the Mrs.Lilien mixes, mingles, and parades about town pushing her signature bar cart dripping in over-the-top ridiculous! I hope you enjoy and are inspired to join our sensational social :)

Loren Hope Fall/Winter 2012

Loren Hope's fabulous new line went live yesterday. The collection boasts vintage flair and art deco deee-liciousness! I love seeing Loren evolve as a designer and was especially honored when she asked me, along with a fabulous group of trailblazin' women, to style out her stunning pieces. It's all so good but at the top of my wish list are Clara, Gwyneth, and Alex. I would love to know what's at the top of yours. See the lookbook here!

What I do on Saturday Mornings...

Shopping. More like window shopping. Sometimes it's for clothes, sometimes it's for Parisian pied-Ă -terres. Yours for just $6000/week. Studios starting at $850/week.

As Pink Floyd says, "Shine on you crazy diamond..." and as Dad would say, "go get 'em you baby tiger!" Anything is possible :)

Me, My Brother, and a whole lotta furniture

It went live. I'm exhausted. I think I'll take a nap.

On a serious note, I'm so grateful for all the support and all the wonderful people who contributed their time and talent!  Thank you. I love you. Because of you I can help take care of my little family :) I would pour you a cocktail and give you a kiss on the mouth if I could.

And on another note, it was kind of a big day for the Te Team!! I'm so proud of my brother on Joss & Main today. He's also Society Social's photographer! Check it out if you would like :)

The Bar Cart is Back

Every bar cart needs fresh cut flowers, crystal decanters, and liquor of course!

Let's Be...

This sentiment is so beautiful to me. It reminds me of this series. Remember? We promised to try once a month but alas life got in the way. We'll be rectifying the situation this week! Big or small, have you gone on any adventures lately? Where have they brought you?

Friendship Bracelets are for Friends

They'll hold my hand anytime, through thick and thin, and I say that deserves some kind of pretty adornment. Don't you think? :)

Silly Pet Names

This is going to sound extremely silly, but the truth is, Alan and I call each other all kinds of ridiculous things-- honey love, sugar butt, bugger boo, petit chou. I saw this keychain at the Brooklyn Flea over the weekend and I smiled to myself. Before you poke fun, according to Women's Health lovey-dovey-kissey talk can lead to a healthier relationship! Ha! Do you have silly pet names for your significant other? Spill it ;)

Notebooks for Remembering

"I love crunchy peanut butter," Alan said as he chomped down on the toast I had just made for him. I was complaining about my recent lack of ability to remember words mid-sentence. "It's like, I can remember the lining of the word, the syllables, the first of it, may be the end of it, but it never fully comes until it's too late. Then I just look dumb." Then we launched into a conversation "about that one time, don't you remember?" about how he had used a made-up word that sounded a lot like the word he meant to use, but an incorrect vowel made it completely nonsensical. Neither one of us could remember the word. Case in point. Maybe I'll at least remember that my husband loves crunchy peanut butter on his toast versus smooth. Just in case I can't...

Weekend Picture Book

Some slow walk action at the corner of Irving and 20-something

Alan said, "Are you going to make enough for everyone?" as we slowly woke rounding off around 23 hours of sleep between Friday and Saturday nights. It's been hot, icky sticky hot. Everyone ate an entire Grimaldi's pie. Then everyone spent hours in a shop because I think it had the best AC in the Flatiron District. Everyone emerged cooled, into the humidity, with an armful of new books that Alan says we won't be able to read in the park, for fear of melting, until October. I made enough for everyone. 4 eggs, half scrambled for him, half over-easy for me, and peanut butter toast for the two that was everyone :)

Disclaimer regarding the lack of pictures in the "picture book:" Frankly, I'm tired of seeing my face everywhere, I'm currently suffering from adult acne that I don't feel like fixing in Photoshop (guilty as charged), and it was just too effing hot. ;)

I was so tickled when Joss & Main asked me to curate one of their amazing sales! I mean, they have everything from owls and dragons to outfit your marvelous menagerie to double old fashioned glasses for your stocked up, styled out bar cart!  I filled my shopping bag to the brim and would just love if you had a chance to stop by :) If you do, please let me know what you think! A Champagne Diamond Engagement Ring

When Alan and I first started talking about getting married (almost 10 years ago!), I knew from the beginning I wouldn't want the popular brilliant or round cuts. To me, a person who is already enamored with all things vintage, there is something infinitely more romantic about rings that are less traditional and more unexpected. He proposed with a beautiful vintage-inspired pear shape... of course I said yes :) What's your ring style?

555 2nd Avenue

Todaro Brothers is often at the end of one of our many "slow-walks." Who needs a typical grocery store when you have a neighborhood spot that regularly imports from the Mediterranean? This is not good for my budget, or my thighs ;)

Olympic Fever

In my book, the Olympics top the list of the most inspiring, captivating events to ever happen. I mean, who doesn't love watching dreams come true while at the same time watching the world come together?! I've been avidly watching, crying every other second (ha!), and I've especially loved following 17-year old (!!) Olympic swimmer, Missy Franklin.
She's about as sparkly as it gets and she's quickly winning hearts all over the world with her contagious smile and bubbly spirit, including mine! I cried with her during the Backstroke Medal ceremony then my heart almost burst watching her joyful reunion with her parents after winning Olympic Gold.
That's what dreams are made of y'all! Have you been watching? Following anyone in particular? Team USA is kicking ass!
p.s. Michael Phelps now has 19 Olympic medals which makes him the most decorated Olympian of all time and he's not even done yet. Whoa!
