Today's Snapshots

I usually save my personal photos for my Weekend Picture Books, but I couldn't resist sharing a few snapshots out of my day. I'm just having so much fun. :) Meet Zsa Zsa & Gabor. Aren't they the most handsome pair? Thrifted.

Also thrifted, please give a warm welcome to beautiful cut and colored glass "TBD" turtle. Bless him. He doesn't have a name yet, but he's quite content smelling the roses. The garden came in the latest package to arrive here at HQ. Designers Guild Orangerie!! I have love eyes to the moon in back...for them both. And thennnnnn. Waiiiit for it!!!

A sneak peek of my desk makeover! Before shown here. It still needs to be hand-trimmed in gold, but I'm still having a major design moment. To top it off it's Queen Anne legs just so happen to match my French vintage slipper chairs that I scored over the weekend!
Was it okay that I shared? Would you like to see more of my daily snapshots? Hope y'all are having a fun one too, darlings!

Heyyyy Burl. Can I get yo' numbah?

Hey Buuurl. Can I get yo' numbah? And Eames, you are lookin' mighty fine.

With my fabric swatches on the way, I can now focus my crazed design high on to credenzas. Love the style, but we need the function just as much as our storage options are nil. I have my eye on a contemporary vintage mid-century modern burl wood credenza. (Verbatim per Ebay) I believe the Mr. thinks I have officially gone over the edge. Bless him for going along with it :)

Now really, can I get yo' numbah?

See the rest of this incredible NYC apartment here.

Weekending.

Remember this old series? I'm bringing it back, darlings. This time less is more. Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

Before & After

Just kidding. Not quite yet. But something very cool is about to happen to this desk.
You would die if you knew how much I scored it for. Lots of ideas...
...of the goodness that can happen here.

You'll just have to wait and see ;) Cheers to the weekend, darlings!

Fantasizing

I eat, sleep, and dream fabrics lately. My goal grandoise (French vocab calls for French arrangement = noun adj. vs adj. noun ;) is to have our new place decorated by my birthday which means I only have two months- eep! My latest fabric finds are sending all kinds of fantasies and inspirations through my head. What do you think, darlings?

Total. Textile. Consumption.

I have lost all sanity. There's just no denying it when you find yourself up in the wee hours of the morning tracking down a vendor in France. You ask if I have lost it? Well...
the answer is most certainly, 100% positively yes.
I have been consumed to the core. I MUST get my hands on this fabric. I'm waiting with bated breath for pricing info. Even if just a pillow, I promise I don't need to eat. Besides...
My latest Society Social intro!
...I've styled a whole room around it. Pending bar cart and other lofty necessities, of course.

Want to see more of why I didn't sleep last night? See "Fabrics for NYC HQ." I must warn you, you may lose your design marbles too! Do you see a fabric that totally consumes you? I'd love to know!

Decal Dilemma

I never considered myself a decal kind of girl, but then I saw this on Little Green Notebook. I realize it's a hand-painted mural (crazy cool), but it got me thinking especially since Chinoiserie is a theme I've been throwing around. White walls, no desire to paint...would you decal it up?

SocietySocial Introduces The Duchess! Nope, not Kate...

I am infinitely excited today. I just introduced, literally seconds ago (eep!), a true personal fave of mine to the Society Social line-up. What do you think, loves?! :)

Color Me Bad

I wear a lot of neutrals, but all this color blocking is tempting me to deviate from my norm! What do you think, darlings? Has the color blocking trend tempted you to take a spin on the color wheel?

Hey Now, Gold Cow

I'm on the fence about cowhides. I saw a gorgeous gold foil look at LM's home beautifully designed by The Decorista and thereafter I've seen the look several times. They're awfully pretty and quite stunning. I'm no vegetarian, but I think "cowhide" kind of hurts my feelings?  I'm just not sure! What do you think, dolls?

Two Rounds of Happy

My Society Social Fifi Folding Chair in Lonny Office Obsessions Round-up
My Society Social Double bar cart in Glitter Guide's Bar Round-up

Hi darlings! It's as crazy as ever around here with learning how to take care of the baby biz while trying to stay on top of designing new product (start-up life ain't no joke!) as well as living out of a suitcase and gradully moving to NYC. Sounds and looks pretty fab on the outside, but if I'm being honest the day to day favors strongly of blood, sweat, and tears. yikes. You know that crazy overplayed song by One Republic? Good Life? I heard it the other day, rather 10 times the other day and today...

When you're happy like a fool, let it take you over
When everything is out, you've got to take it in.

...and realized I rarely let myself enjoy the moment. It's always on to the next obstacle. So today, I will step back, quit worrying so much, and count my blessings. With that said, can I get a baby cheers for Society Social? My Double bar cart and Fifi folding chair were recently featured in round-ups by Lonny and the Glitter Guide!

Today's Mantra. My Personal Mantra.

Nope. Didn't stutter. I have no interest in "keep your eye on the ball." This is a personal mantra I made up because those indeed are the most meaningful kind. I even have this on my desk as a reminder to go after it every single day. A West Village wonder is all I ask. Lofty, you say? Well, I guess we shall see. I do have the manner of "hell-bent" on my side and it's pretty fierce ;)

Animal House

Mission "Decorate NYC" is officially underway. So far I've commissioned a piece of art (insane excited), almost decided on a sofa, and I'm now searching high and low for a resident pet. I'd love a lion or perhaps that Jonathan Adler rhino. Impractical with my amount of floor space, but a cocktail or two, and it could totes be used as extra seating. No?

Boticca's Sensational Social Guide to Fashion Week

Fashion Week Guides on Boticca.com
Designed by Boticca the marketplace for independent designers.
Hello, social butterflies and fashionistas alike! Have you been caught up in the frenzy of fashion week? I just returned from "the tents," and I must say there is quite a buzz about NYC. From the parties to the shops, to the parties in the shops, there's a social event for all. Whether you're the label lover, scene stealer, or just the gal who'd "rather wear (and be!) the unique story", Boticca has designed these fashion week city guides to help you navigate the stylish crowds.

Not sure where to start? Make like me and start with #3 down on their restaurant round-up. Think old speakeasy with a hidden door (pssst, it's the green one) in the darling West Village with lots of twinkle lights. I promise you'll love!

Weekend Picture Book. NYC.

Shirt Dress

The Sartorialist

Good morning, lovies. I'm off to Sunday brunch and this cool NYC morning calls for comfy, casual style. Thinking about digging through the Mr.'s stash of button-ups for a makeshift shirt dress. :)

9/11. Celebrate life. Never forget.

Funday. Bunday.

Thankfully slept in. Meandered through the neighbordhood for an iced cup of joe. It just feels like a no frills, bun kind of day. Don't you love weekends, darlings?

For messy bun inspiration, see Blair.

For a bun avec braid, see Jo.

For a little fun in the bun, see LC.

Hey Stud.

These hot little stud muffins are the latest introduction by Loren Hope. Her entire line is something every girl can appreciate- dripping in sparkles and won't break the bank! They remind me of my favorite pair of crystal and coral vintage earrings, which although smashing, have those annoying screw-in backs popular in the 40's.

Speaking of the 1940's, wouldn't they look awesome with this??

My Little Piece of NYC. Commissioned Art!

An existing piece in J's portfolio. Obsessed!!
My very first piece of original commissioned art will soon hang in my new NYC apartment and the anticipation has already taken over me! The artist? A dear, long-time friend, an amazing creative talent and above an all-time favorite of mine from her portfolio. I adore her takes on Chuck Close. We're currently working on the general idea and color palette, but for now I can tell you it's going to be a big one!

What about you, darlings? Are you up for over-sized art? Commissioned pieces? Do tell!

The Brickyard

Exposed. Brick. Is this a love/hate? Maybe it's our new place, but I clearly only have love. Which route would you take loves? Would you run with the rustic feel? Or would you go glam and pair it with chandeliers? I love contrasting elements, not to mention sparkly items, so there really is no question as to which road I would sprint down.
