Introducing: The Seoul Style Files of an American Expat | Military Chic

{Military inspired looks marched down the fall runways, personally most striking at Burberry Prorsum. From seriously structured silhouettes to hard edged jackets and modern epaulets each look was worthy of a 5 star salute.  LT rocks surplus style on the streets of Seoul!}

I've decided to take a mini break from my (let's be honest, self-absorbed) birthday countdown wish list to introduce a fun little series that I'm naming The Seoul Style Files of an American Expat! My brother, LT, moved to Seoul last year and has developed some majorly serious style along the way. We thought this might be a fun way for us to keep in touch since I couldn't walk 500 miles to visit and 500 more even if I wanted to, and it's also a great opportunity to blog about something else other than women's fashion because we all know I'm ob-sessed on a "I'm coming undone" kinda level!

Besides, his new what I like to call "The Sartorialist" worthy lens, must be put to good use since it nearly broke his kimchi and soju budget.  What do you think darlings?! Hey, check out this shot of his sweet new oxfords, the ones not shown in the shot above, and stay tuned for much more from The Seoul Style Files of an American Expat!

Birthday Countdown Wish List | J.Crew Spring Forward!

Fall Back, Spring forward! I know the former just occurred this past weekend, but after catching a glimpse of J.Crew's Spring collection (hello, perfection!), I can't help but to want to spring forward.  Aside from the adore collection itself, I'm loving the messy up-do's from the side ponytails to the swept up styles that would be so perfectly pretty and low maintenance for Mondays like today! How was your weekend luvies? I went on a special roadtrip to visit family and received an adore early birthday gift from my darling, sweet cousin...

{Some pieces from Madewell's Fall jewelry box made their way to mine!}

She works at Madewell and surprised me with chain chic goodies like the ones above. Thanks Dee! I also got to see my baby sister who moved away this Fall to start college. She made the #2 spot on the tennis team, and I couldn't be prouder!

{Inside joke for my brother: The three of us..."Rob the jewrry sto' and tell 'em make me a grill"}

We had a little Macbook fun before our dinner out that I thought might bring a laugh to your Monday morning monotony! Here's to the start of another week! xoxo

Birthday Countdown Wishlist | One Tequila Sunrise and a serving of Rocky Road

{Tequila sunrise to your left! And Rocky Road to your right! Wouldn't you need both?!}

I desperately need a Tequila Sunrise and a serving of Rocky Road and by that I mean these gawww-geous statement necklaces by jewelry designer, Irene Jung.  They're a part of another giveaway I've entered (over at Coco + Kelley!) in hopes one will land under my birthday tree!  I'm already imagining how simply glam one of these would look with even a basic tee and boyfriend jeans or how they could add that extra panache to my birthday ensemble!  Not too much to wish for right? After all, I really shouldn't be pouring Patron down my throat before the sun comes up.  Happy Friday darlings!

Birthday Countdown Wishlist | A Cape, Not like Zorro...

...more like Little Red Riding Hood!  I can already name a few people who would ask me where the Big Bad wolf is, but I would totally tell them to shut it.  On a side note: I'm truthfully only doing this wish list for the fun of it, but just in case there should so happen to be a certain someone in need of, say, direction, these less obvious (more importantly less than $520) options would do as well.  Just sayin'!

This birthday countdown wish list really is such fun! I'm already on to the next... Speaking of countdowns, who's up for a weekend countdown?

Birthday Countdown Wishlist | La Mer Watch & A Cupcake

I'm really loving all the fantastic wrap bracelets from J.Crew's Fall line.  Remember the ones my girlfriends and I wanted to make our adult version of friendship bracelets?   The stacked version of things just seem to be so much more fun these days and this wrap watch meets chain bracelets is no exception.  Fashion meets function, eh?  Wrap it up and put it under my birthday tree, please! Hurry, the La Mer clock is ticking!!  And speaking of the birthday tree, I think winning this giveaway over at the fabulous Lilac and Grey would be a great way to kick off my birthday season!

Happy Hump Day luvies!

Did I mention...

Did I mention that as of yesterday it's officially my birth month? We here at My Cup of Te take birthdays, like a true Scorpio, very seriously and with much passion. To bring in the season, because yes, my birthday is a season for at least the next several weeks, I think I'll take the upcoming days to share a few goodies on my wishlist! Wouldn't an afternoon tea party like I imagine the photo above be utterly lovely? Oh, I can hardly wait! What do you do to celebrate your birthday, darlings?

Post Halloween Pumpkin Makeover and Weekend Recap!

Today I overheard a conversation about a pumpkin stand that decided to give away its pumpkins FOR FREE considering Halloween is officially over. My first thought was...what a moron.  I may be biased based on the fact I have an abnormal obsession, but won't you agree after seeing the above picture? A little paint and these little babies are good to go through Thanksgiving. A little more paint, and you have my second thought and Christmas decorations from last year!
On a semi-unrelated note, now that Halloween is officially over do you have fabulous pictures to share? What did you dress as?  I was officially two hours away from greeting the sunrise and successfully drank enough to feel like Jason from Friday the 13th had gotten a hold of me, but didn't quite finish me off. Note to self: It is self destructive to act like you are in college and the lyrics to Usher's song are to dance like it's the last night of your life, not drink.

{So I half assed it, but not bad for two hours before the party!  And it was a good thing the ensemble only set me back approx $0.00 considering deciding to drink everything with the word bomb in it is not cheap.}
{Fantasy mimics reality, everyone and their mother wanted to get a pic with A. Woods}

 {K rockin' her mom's vintage girl scout uniform and Pat being absolutely ridic}

{"You're Asian! Me too! Let's take a picture!" In my defense, I'm not making excuses for my behavior, (but I kind of am) there's not too many of us where I live.}

{The bar crawl crew!}
Hope y'all had a great Monday and a fantastic Halloween weekend! As for me, day two of recovery. Aye, aye, aye...I'm getting old!
