Champers and Cake!

Oh, whatever to do with your leftover champers?! That is if you didn't toast, toast, and toast again on the nigh' of new year! Well lovers, it's 2011, and I say, have your cake (a 1000 layer cake via Sweet Paul at that!), eat it too, then wash it down with a vintage cocktail- the French 75! I made this bubbly delight at a birthday party a few weekends ago, and it was all the rage judging by the empty bottles and good cheer all around!

p.s. Did you know the French 75 was named after the 75 millimeter, the go to gun of the French Artillery, in WWI? How's that for a stiff drink?

Oh my, Darling!

The Darling Rue debut!
My dearest of darlings, have you met THE design Darling, Mackenzie Horan?  She's inspired me to drink more champers (cheers!), to live life en Francais (bisous! bisous!), and to not only write, but to send more hand-written letters (keep your peepers peeled on that mailbox, sisters)!  Do you have the case of "I'll have whatever she's having" yet? Don't fret my loves! There is loads of inspiration to go 'round! Just skip on over to her marvelous blog and if you haven't seen it yet, I insist you take a peek at her delightful debut on Rue!

Chez Herve Pierre

Carolina Herrera's creative director, Herve Pierre, created a deliciously whimsical getaway at his home in NYC! The haphazard stacks (hello, Hermes!), eccentric flair, and the tray full of macaroons and afternoon tea are enough to have me wishing I fell down the rabbit hole. Do you remember this post? I think it's safe to say he'd side with Jenna.

Dinner at Moosewood!

I don't wear glasses! 20/20 biatch! My brother who lives in Seoul says these "Clark Kents" are all the rage. Whatever. Anything to make me look more like I actually know what I'm talking about!

Did I tell you I asked Santa for a boat load of books for Christmas, and that I received almost all of them?! I'm no vegetarian (gotta have my southern BBQ!), but I do believe vegetarian cookbooks do it best when it comes to creative veggie dishes. Eat your veggies, folks! Tonight I pulled from my new library of "clean food" cookbooks, Moosewood Restaurant New Classics, and threw together Moroccan Roasted Veggies!

The source of the image, which I jacked from another since I was too busy guzzling my glass of red (Phew, it was a long one! ), is in the bottom corner and also where you can get the recipe! Post-dinner my baby sis and I, who I must say was certainly a good sport for posing, decided to treat our faces to a mint and green tea mask. Aren't we so hot right now?

Well there you go, it is proven I have not an ounce of vanity in my body! Never mind the fact that skincare is stealing major pennies from my piggy bank. Feast your eyes on the wicked witches from the West! Anyways, apologies for the rando post, I digress. Back to regular programming tomorrow with a house tour that will make you feel like you're Alice tokin' it up with Mr.Caterpillar!

Juliette Hogan has me smitten like Romeo

Are you head over heels too, my darlings? Australian designer Juliette Hogan's Winter '10 Collection is dubbed "so pretty it hurts." If that's the case, I feel as if I've been smacked in the face with floaty chiffons, the perfect pretty, bold bows, and loving every second of it.  I would fight to the bitter end for the Diana dress or the Amelie cape! What about you, loves? Which look brings out that Romeo? ;)

Graham Atkins Hughes

Oh my lovelies! The Christmas carols have been sung, the gifts unwrapped, and the champers toasts thrown down the hatch. 2011 is here and one of my resolutions is to focus my content on only that which sparks the imagination, awakens a dream, or simply produces a smile!

I discovered London based photographer, Graham Atkins Hughes, here and immediately fell in love with his work. He's been featured in Elle Decor and Vogue to name a few. I adore everything about the whimsical editorial above! It's so dreamy, so Halston, and so my Cup of Te!

p.s. Cheers to a New Year, darlings! Have you made any resolutions? One of mine is to find a French pen pal to help me polish my merci's! Any takers? ;)

Behind the Scenes of the official My Cup of Te Photoshoot!

One day I was daydreaming- wouldn't it be absolutely marvelous to see My Cup of Te in pictures? To style a shoot with the intent of living life like a celebration, living sparkly? Before I could pop a bottle and pour some bubbly into my teacup, my imagination had run (more like sprinted) away from me! With the gracious help of the other Te's in my life...

There were handmade pom-poms. See how-to here.

And between shots- singing.

A set otherwise known as my deconstructed living room!

Two official photographers- my brother the King of the Canon...

...as well as, my baby sis, apprentice in training. She shut it down.

And my darling cousins (the Te ladies!) who helped me style!
What's in yours?

I couldn't have done this or had as much fun doing it without my dear family, and we truly hope you enjoy the outcome! To see the official My Cup of Te photos, click here and here! Enjoy, darlings!!!

Cheers,
Roxy
