Weekending
Hi loves! What are your plans his weekend? I picked up the Mr. from the airport last night. It's the second time I've seen him in two months. I'm over the moon. We woke up very slowly to delightfully crispy Autumn weather then made one of those breakfasts that waft through the house and subsequently make you want to laze about for the better part of the day. Tonight we're off to celebrate a dear friend's nuptials. Weekends full of loved ones and joyous celebrations make my heart full :)

750 SQ. FT. FAB.
I've been a long time fan of Elizabeth Bauer. If I could have one designer come in to decorate the NYC digs, it would be her! I spotted this space she did for InStyle's publisher, Connie Anne Phillips, and melted away into la la land.
The studio is just 750 square feet, but she managed to jam pack it with insane amounts of style. It's completely 100% representative of what I've been going for while decorating the new place-- a bit of chinoiserie and French frou frou! Tell me, darlings. If you could have one interior designer by your side, (money ain't a thang!), who would it be?

Weekending
Me & You Diagram via Etsy |
Hi Darlings! What did you do this weekend? I've spent it working at High Point market and honestly feel a bit burnt out between Society Social and another new company launch. I'm exhausted, and I've seen the Mr. a total of two days in two months. Tough. And not to mention crazy, right?! Did y'all get to spend time with loved ones? I'd love to hear about it! Can't say I won't be a little jealous ;)

Me Love You Long Time
Life's Little Jems- In honor of breast cancer awareness month! The Society Social Tipple Trolley. |
The Society Social Draper for Pretty in Python at Kelly Market |
The Madison Mixer Bar Cart and Tipple Trolley at Luella and June for cocktail hour |
As a small business owner who has spent (smashed the piggy bank into smithereens) all of her money on start-up costs, I cannot express the gratitude I feel for the support of the blogging and design community. Me. Love. You. Lonnng. Time.
Lavender. Bear with Me.
Lavender. A total sleeper color for me when it comes to interiors. I think I have a fear of a room that looks like an easter egg exploded on it. My first encounter with pale lavender walls was at the Society Social shoot in the most gorgeous early 1920's manse. See my Madison Mixer bar cart below...

So ridic, right? This might be my favorite shot of the entire group. I surprised myself by falling in love with those subtle, barely lavender walls the millisecond I walked in. Annd that painting, the styling. Design. High. Up next, Liz Caan's design studio...
...is it La Maison Goyard-like wallpaper that's reeling me in? (One day I shall splurge on a tote!) Or do I really love lavender? And one can't deny that this space is tdf. What do you think, darlings? Lavender love or lavender loathe?

Millinery Marvelous
{Audrey in Givenchy, Funny Face 1956}
Are you new to my Millinery Marvelous posts? I'm dying for hats to make a real come back. They used to be much more a part of daily ready-to-wear than they are now. Maybe I just have a thing for revivals?

Malachite Marvelous
Remember these fabrics for the NYC HQ? Well, I bought them. They are even more stunning in person, and I fear that my malachite obession has flared out of control. The above is a resulting purchase based on the aforementioned, a Friday night spent working in front of the computer, and a couple glasses of red. I justified it with the fact I have really made only two small purchases since February-- Society Social takes up most all my pretty pennies! However, I'm still feeling guilty. It was totes acceptable. Right?

Weekending
Beaton for Vogue, 1945 |
What's on the agenda this weekend, darlings? I'm putzing around. Working a bit and actually so excited to see my bff family. We're having one our signature dinners tonight, and I'm in charge of guac and teqqquiiila! Leave it to the bar cart lady. Are you around NYC? The Cecil Beaton exhibit starts in 10 days, and I know it's something I will be checking off my weekending list soon!

Holy Sheep
Neo-trad, neo-traditionalist, classic with a twist, and the latest "quirky traditional" which I came across while discovering a novel new site! (You must check out DYD!) I like it-- the site and my new official theme. Yes, I have decided anything I put in my new NYC apartment shall fall under quirky traditional. Now where I can I get a sheep?
In Her Shoes at Effortless Style
TGIF y'all! Today I'm excited to share that the darling Camila over at Effortless Style Interiors asked me to participate in the In Her Shoes series. She follows the most talented ladies in the design industry so I just couldn't be more flattered to be a part of such an impressive group of women. I share my day in the life as the owner of a small start-up business, my baby Society Social, via a photo play-by-play. Come along as I inspect orders, write to my Socials, and of course inject a little sparkly!

The Bar Cart is Back
I much prefer my bar carts brimming with liquor (don't judge), but a double duty bar cart slash accent table holds a special place in my heart. (Thank you HGTV!)

Picture Frame Collages
No offense if you have one, I do think they are pretty, but personally I'm over it. My collage is so LY x 2. It makes me yawn.
The mirror collage first became a twinkle in my eye when I spotted one on Home by Novogratz and now my heart is pitter pattering over this...
and this. Mirrors are a fantastic way to make a small space look bigger, and I've officially decided I must have one, or rather 10, for our darling but petite NYC apartment.
What do you say, darlings? Have you moved on too?

Hudson Clearwater
I shall never become unacquainted with the anticipatory feeling that comes over me each time I witness, as though magic is being performed before my very eyes, the carefully laid out grid of Manhattan’s streets become an entangled heap of cobblestone, brownstones, and tree lines. As if the West Village didn’t already feel like the most delightful, tucked away secret harbored by one of the world’s greatest cities...
...add to it the enchantment of dusk and a hunt for an unmarked “green door.” Charles, Christopher, Barrow, the cabby himself even missed the former, reputed speakeasy. It’s one of those facades which upon discovering makes one feel as if it were only by delicious happenstance even with the address scribbled on the back of your hand.
As I pushed through the unassuming door that leads to Hudson Clearwater, my eyes danced with excitement...
