Happy Weekending!

TGIF y'all! I just returned from a business trip so Alan and I will be taking it easy around here.  We have a little date night planned, and I think we'll finally get to see the Hunger Games.  I've read all three books *nerd alert* so I couldn't be more excited! Have any of y'all seen it yet?

I've also been meaning to pop by the nearby flower district after my local florist laughed at me for putting this combo together. He might think I'm cray, but I quite like it! What do you think of my latest minty mani?

Happy Weekending to you!

See you soon!

Excuse me for the day while I travel about. The flight is short but the time I have to get things done goes furiously fast so I don't have much time to write. I'll be back in a flash and before you know it, so for now, happy hump day, darlings :)

It may seem as if I'm planning to get pregnant...

...but honestly it's just that I don't discriminate. A cute outfit is a cute outfit, whether it's a boutique in bfe (pardon) or Barney's, and yesterday night I found myself shopping on Hatch.  A website describing its pieces as "wardrobe essentials cool and busy women can truly wear before, during, and after pregnancy." I'm totally down! Now all I need is $556 for that crazy chic jumper and casual cool tank dress.   Investment pieces for when one day, even if a better part of a decade from now, I might actually be planning to get pregs. Right? Right!

Really Cute Wallets

I'm loving all the super cute wallets over at new-to-me Deux Lux.  Polka dots, bows, a little woven wonderful, and a price tag that isn't criminal - which one shall it be? Have you been? Pop over and help me decide!

Sneakers Wanted

I've been searching high and low for some casual city kicks, trying on everything from Keds to Toms and Converse, but I just can't find the perfect fit. I refuse the boat shoe. (Sorry to those who are fans!) and Alan just keeps shaking his head at every fitting, "Sneakers just aren't you." But they are!! I will make them me! Enter Bensimon. Joanna calls them the "French Girls' Converse." Could this be it? Do any of you have a pair? Do tell!

Weekend Picture Book

This weekend my family gathered at home to celebrate my dad's birthday.

429 3rd Avenue (btw 29th and 30th)

Our first time at the Bagel Cafe was at 6am on a random weekday. (Yes, earlier than this very post!)  Our schedules were particularly brutal that week so we decided to sneak in a "breakfast date." Call us cray, but sometimes life has a way of shifting you around to its liking. Now we often go here on lazy weekends when we don't feel like stepping foot out of our neighb.  I like the traditional Nova Scotia and Alan is quite unpredictable!

The Printed Pump

A good blogger would share these pricey (silly awesome) printed pumps then  provide links to "the look for less." But I couldn't find anything that didn't make me want to vom, even if Glamour says so, therefore this is all I got for ya- $700 dolla eye candy. You're welcome.

Color Palette

Maybe not a forever thing, but for now I'm slightly obsessed with the color palette in this room. And perhaps, the vase that looks like a really. big. teacup. :)

DIY Cocktail Hour Supplies

Cocktail napkins.
And why cocktails, of course!

31 Great Jones St # 1 (btw Lafayette and Bowery)

I swear the entire city is giddy in its farewell to winter, at least that's what I gathered as I made my way to Nolita for the loveliest little lunch with wonderful family friends at Five Points. The grand french doors to the restaurant were flung open (yes! welcome spring!), fresh cherry blossom branches brought in by the dozens as a cheerful focal point, and we dined under a skylight that allowed the warm sunshine to pour in. I ordered the brussels sprouts pizza and not only was it tdf with charred onions, gooey crescenza cheese, and strips of chorizo, but I now have at least another meal.  Mmm, yes!

Want to see more of "My New York?" I'll be starting a series dedicated to my adventures around this magnificent little island starting with a few posts here!

Polka Dots and Poppy

I've been pretty good about hanging on to my pennies since the coming about of Society Social, but with my spring fever comes spring shopping symptoms :) I just couldn't help myself, these polka dots and poppy poppy are perfect updates to my tired winter wardrobe. Do you approve? I would love to know how your closet is springing forward!

New York Cottages and Gardens Launch

Having a cocktail with Shanan of Eskayel and Kimberly of Kimberly Lewis Home.

The talented wallpaper queens! Again Kimberly of Kimberly Lewis Home, Shanan of Eskayel, and Katie of Grow House Grow.

Last night I attended the launch of New York Cottages and Gardens at the fabulous Lillian August. The prosecco was on tap, the interiors inspiring, and I loved meeting new people!

Recent Properly Deserved Acquisitions

Cocktail napkin tray. For my bar cart. Because we both deserve a good cocktail.

Allergy season is coming up, and I deserve to stare at pretty as I grab for a tissue :)

Fancy these hand-painted (discounted!) pretties?
Head over to One Kings Lane! The sale ends on 3/17!

Group Picture

This made my heart happy :) "The new time you see a bunch of people getting ready to take a group picture...stand behind them...Sometimes you can tell how much people love each other without even seeing their faces."

Spring Shopping Fancies

This dress makes me happy. Effortless, just the right amount of feminine, and perfect for a spring or summer day out and about in the city. Even better? The straps are removable. Two in one! Justified ;)

And aren't these wedges perfect in every way? Being slightly vertically challenged, wedges are a major must have for me. I love a bit of the added height without going overboard and the comfort of an almost flat!

939 2nd Avenue (at 50th street)

Last night I rendezvous'd with old Parsons cronies. We met at La Cava, a wine bar, and caught up on five years of life. 5 years sounds like a lot but it sounds like vastly more when we all subtracted the number of years from our current age. (Have you tried that?) All of a sudden I'm feeling intensely introspective. It seems as if I was such different person at 23, altered in so many ways, but innately the same. After all, I was at happy hour ;). Have you changed in the past 5 years? How?

Serving Cocktails at Note to Self!

Guess who's serving up cocktails at Note to Self? Head over to see a guide about choosing the right cocktail glass by yours truly! And cheers, of course :)

Reinvented Rattan

I've noticed a trend lately, one that I just might have had on my mind ;).  Did you spot it in the latest Lonny and House Beautiful? From a layer of fur to a fresh coat of minty paint, I love how these designers have reinvented rattan. A look that most people would relegate to a sun or patio room has at the hands of someone's fantastic imagination made its way to the mainstream. I'm obsessed!

pssst!! Stay tuned, I just might have a reinvented surprise for you over at the social!

Greenpoint Ave, Brooklyn

I had a lovely little lunch today at the brand new Design Sponge office. Grace and Amy hosted a group of us biz owner ladies and it was nice to casually chat with such an inspiring, like-minded group! The space even in its "work in progress" stage was awesome in all its lofty goodness with the unexpectedly perfect touches you would imagine to find in the HQ of such a creative powerhouse.  I can't wait to see it in its finished glory!

Polka Dot Rug

These delicious paintings by Bella Foster got me thinking- how charming would a polka dot rug be? It would definitely take a certain swagger to avoid from looking too elementary. I'm thinking playful sophistication! I'm in no need of a rug, but I just had to shop around to see if I could find a dotted variety. Et voila! Could you do it?

Happy Weekending!

TGIF y'all! What do you have going on this weekend? After quite the red letter night last weekend, Alan and I are purposely doing as much of nothing as possible. Isn't it funny how your recovery time is directly proportional to your age? Perhaps we'll hunt down the ultimate bagel or maybe even manage to culture ourselves at an art fair, but most likely we'll be doing a lot of this :)

Happy Weekending to you!

p.s. Did you see my Sedgewick bar cart? I sent her out by the bevy this afternoon, and I can't wait for all my socials to get them!
